Let Me Introduce Myself

I'm Edwin Muller, an Industrial Water Expert with a career spanning over two decades in the field of water treatment.
My journey began in 2001 at KEMA, then the leading consulting agency for Dutch electricity producers. It was here that I immersed myself in the world of water and steam for high-pressure boilers—learning how to prepare water, apply chemical treatments, analyze compositions, and above all, understand the critical importance of maintaining top-tier water quality in such systems.
I continued to deepen my expertise through roles at Bureau Veritas and KWR. At Bureau Veritas, I gained practical experience with smaller boiler and steam systems, conducting inspections and audits. I also took my first steps into cooling water systems and Legionella prevention. My time at KWR broadened my focus further, encompassing cooling and drinking water systems across diverse sectors such as food, paper, institutional, and chemical industries.
After more than a decade in advisory roles, I made a strategic shift to apply my knowledge on the operational side. At Shell Global Solutions, I expanded my scope to include wastewater treatment, produced water, and integrated water management. These years demanded a hands-on approach, tackling complex challenges both in the Netherlands and internationally. My work ranged from chemical cleaning support, troubleshooting boilers and cooling systems, commissioning and inspections, to operator training, safety briefings, and even overseeing the safe shutdown of entire plants. My two years at the Pernis Refinery stand out for their focus on elevating safety standards—protecting both personnel and installations.
In 2025, my professional path took a new direction. Following my tenure at Shell, I embraced the opportunity to work independently, bringing my experience and practical mindset directly to clients as a consultant.
